Hi and welcome to GSTT's new audio section!
In this ongoing series of audio recordings we endeavour to find out how some of our associates have created success - or are trying to - after having identified a specific goal. It might actually be a podcast at this point.
Creating financial and/or personal success by painting, writing, making music, or simply trying to change the world in some big way is impossible, right? Remember, if you dont do it, someone else will... Dont waste your efforts in the wrong area and benefit from the wisdom of others by listening to our interviews!
If you know anyone who is on an unusual trajectory, trying to get the impossible done, please feel free to drop us a line at admin@greatsouthernthinktank.org. We'd love to get in touch!
PS: Big thanks to Bec for her ongoing commitment! Big thanks to Adam Grok for coming over and recording the soundtrack at the "Hemingway Studios"! Big thanks to everyone who made an effort to be interviewed - we hope it helps! And also, the fact that most guests are called "Mitchell" is a complete coincidence.
Jane Mitchell
Jane shares her wisdom and experiences on how to start and maintain a successful career as an art painter in an isolated city like Perth / Western Australia.
Do you need qualifications or connections?
Rod Mitchell
We interview the National Chair of Australia's CCL and find out how he intends to promote rational climate policies by building relationships with politicians, and how a carbon tax could work as an incentive, rather than a punishment.
Rebecca Freeman
Rebecca actually makes a living writing her own fiction, writing for others and editing the writing of others. Plus, she manages a family of four (and one chicken, pictured). All that from a small town in Australia's Great Southern region, aka the ends of the earth. If you jump into a boat down here and row South for a few hours, you are in Antarctica. Don't forget your typewriter.
Myles Mitchell
Featuring his newest tracks (recorded 2021 @ the Hemingway Studios Denmark by ourselves), we examine how touring with a band, investigating Australias ancient cultures across the continent and being a husband & dad can be combined without causing complete mayhem - if the family digs it.
Great Southern vs The World
We discuss a few 5-minute topics at Vancouver Cafe. This might be interesting to anyone considering a move to Albany or surrounding shires. Everything is being exaggerated due to too much peppermint tea.
Richard Keeler
Finally... Business Consultant Richard Keeler, currently residing in Western Australia, unveils his plans for the planet's population. Clearly, noone will get spared once he gets his fingers on the orb and cross. In the end, he lays bare an encounter he had with His Holyness The Dalai Lama whilst re-robing himself in some airport security cubicle or other, which is not really part of the solution, just an interesting anecdote.
Many thanks to Richard for being so bold!
Glenny
One man's dream to enter the space race: Glenn Smithers, farmer, decides Aussies should be first and put HOOVES ON MARS, EVENTUALLY (H.O.M.E.)
